Services


The Pressed Leaf is a library and café in the Goblet that provides the following services:

  • A library with books on a wide range of topics, available for patrons to read freely while visiting

  • A book exchange. Used books in good condition may be brought in to trade. (Only a portion of the library is available for trading.)

  • A café that serves a variety of beverages, baked goods, and meals.

  • Free food distribution from the stalls located outside. Community members who are struggling to feed themselves or their families may choose from a variety of fresh produce and simple meals.

  • A community center. The Pressed Leaf seeks to facilitate learning and for conversation. It also has space set aside for young children to play.

The Pressed Leaf is a roleplay-friendly venue located at Plot 26 of the 28th Ward of the Goblet on Mateus in Final Fantasy XIV.The venue does not have scheduled hours and is often not staffed by player wait staff. You are welcome to roleplay in the venue at your leisure and have the non-player staff attend to your characters' requests.The kitchens and additional non-player staff are off-camera, on the other side of the sliding doors.

Staff


Loviatar Kheerin

Lovi is the manager of the Pressed Leaf. They bring a wealth of experience in food service and people manipul– business management. Outside of their work at the Pressed Leaf, Lovi is a scholar of the thaumaturgical arts with a love of trashy roman– fine literature.

Lovi is a player character. Their pronouns are they/them and she/her. Visit Lovi's carrd to learn more about them!


Rhenglac

Rhenglac handles the distribution of free food and makes sure patrons who sit outside have their needs met. A gentle giant, he always makes time for children who visit.

Rhenglac is an non-player character. You are welcome to roleplay that he handles orders for outside tables as well as handling any requests for free basic foodstuffs. Rhenglac also keeps the peace outside and will remove anyone causing problems. His pronouns are he/him.


Stovoj Tirasch

Stovoj helps with the outside duties on days when Rhenglac isn't working, distributing free food and assisting patrons seated outside. His boisterous, kind nature tends to quickly put children at ease and he can often be spotted playing with them in between his work. Stovoj also fills in as handy-man and can sometimes be spotted making repairs inside.

Reva

Reva's curiosity about the wider world led her to leave her home in Gyr Abania to meet new peoples. Though still learning the ways of Ul'dahn culture, her friendly demeanor makes customers feel welcome.

Reva is an non-player character. You are welcome to roleplay that she handles your orders at the upstairs counter. Of the three wait staff, she's the most likely to get your order wrong due to honest miscommunication. Her pronouns are she/her.


Clifton

Clifton makes sure visitors are comfortable in the downstairs library and lounge. When business is quiet, he also enjoys helping children learn to read and write.

Clifton is an non-player character. You are welcome to roleplay that he handles your orders at the downstairs counter. The other staff will also direct you to him for any requests involving trading books (and the Pressed Leaf will only accept common books; you will be directed to a proper bookseller if you have rare tomes). His pronouns are he/him.


J'vala Tirasch

Although J'vala owns the Pressed Leaf, he fully entrusts its management to Loviatar. However, he can still often be found visiting and occasionally even chips in to help out a bit if the café is particularly busy. He can also be found teaching from time to time.

About


J'vala Tia is the owner of the Pressed Leaf. The property was donated to him by his cousin and mentor, J'ahma.J'vala wanted to create a space that would benefit the community, especially those struggling to make a living. The Pressed Leaf's free food carts ensure that families have enough to eat, and its library provides a space for children to learn.The Pressed Leaf's charitable endeavors are partially funded by the sales of food and drink in the café. Additional funding comes from generous benefactors who wish to see all the people of Ul'dah flourish.
